The Meadowlark Piano Trio hails from America's heartland.
Formed by three best friends at the University of Nebraska--Lincoln, they have performed nationwide to great acclaim. They have been heard at the Carnegie Room Concert Series, in New York, the Honors ChamberFest in Nebraska, the Cikan House Concerts in Montana, and the Capistrano International Chamber Music Festival in California, among others.
Deeply committed to community outreach, they regularly perform in schools, nursing homes, community centers, and hospitals. In Nebraska, they developed a chamber music program for the Lincoln Youth Orchestra. Most summers, the Meadowlarks can be found at the Capistrano International Chamber Music Festival, where they perform as ensemble-in-residence. Committed to new music and living composers, the Meadowlarks have commissioned multiple works from composers Nels Drue Daily, Stephanie Boyd, and Thomas Dougherty.
The trio’s members are currently pursuing advanced degrees at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University and the Cleveland Institute of Music. Their main mentors have been members of the Chiara String Quartet, the Cavani String Quartet, Bayla Keyes, Ann Chang, and Angella Ahn.
In their free time, they enjoy making pizza from scratch, attempting to ski, and trekking foreign lands together.
